We
don't want to provide just space to share information about services and
products that members of Slovenian communities in the US have to offer. Our
virtual community should also be a space where its members share information
about their interests or hobbies or passions, whatever you want to call
it..
So
far you already know that I like running and I embrace
every opportunity that I get to talk to a fellow runner, exchange information,
advices, or suggestions. Another
passion of mine is personal development
During
my initial years in the US I quickly learned that there was a need for
Slovenian language lessons among Slovenians in this country. In order to
help in that regard we opened Learn Slovenian web page in August 2008.
At
the same time we announced Best Slovenian Recipe Competition and open a
web page for that purpose.
In
January 2009 we added Book Club page to provide a space where SlovInUS
members can share information about books they read.
You
have an opportunity and I
encourage you to take an active role in contributing to the existing forums
and/or establishing new ones. If you have a special interest, for example you
enjoy cooking, music, hiking, travel, poetry, languages...what have you, if
you would like to connect with other people in our community who, have same
interests then this is the time to act. Let us know about your interest, write
an article about what makes your day, inform us of a web site that can be
helpful to everybody who shares the same interest etc. Send
