| "It's a sort of a meditation when you run." said former Slovenian Ambassador to the Untied Stated Samuel Zbogar, who was a great running inspiration to me. (We talked to him about running for our first issue of the SlovInUS News. You can read the interview here>>.) I couldn't agree more with him and I am sure most runners know exactly what that means. I started running more seriously in 2006. (You can read more about my running experience here>>.) On this page I'd like to share what I've learned about this sport so far, what books have helped me become better runner, what products have made my runs more enjoyable, where to find runners friendly trails etc. I've been using most of the products listed below and thus feel very comfortable recommending them to you. To start with, here are some books that should be on your shelves: Obviously, minimum equipment you should have to start running are some shorts and shirts and a pair of good running shoes. Those are very important but there are too many options available. On top of that, the anatomy of the foot plays too big of a role to make any general recommendations. What I can recommend is a great web site, which can help tremendously with finding the right running shoe for yourself - Running Shoe Finder, which is part of the Runner's World web site, one that you should have in your favorites if you are at least half serious about running. However, there are accessories and other equipment, which can be used by anybody. Below are some items, most of them I've been using for a while and couldn't recommend high enough. | Advertisement
